Clinical Mental Health Counselling - VIRTUAL

Jessa is a RPC-c with the CPCA (#4638)

Since her young teen years, Jessa has had a drive and true calling to helping others find their own light. Whether volunteering with certain populations or answering the community’s call for help in different areas- she has a presence of compassion and a voice of advocacy in the community.

Drawing in on the counselling profession had been long a goal for Jessa since an early traumatic loss fledged her into her own journey she had to walk through. She truly learned how impactful having a safe space and a safe person can be in order to experience healing in its true, raw form.

After working as a mental health worker in the community, it very quickly became time to leave that and begin the educational journey to becoming a counsellor. Although she now sits in the “counselling seat” she is continuously aware of how it feels being in the client seat. An awareness she never takes lightly and one she answers with compassion and true authenticity. She does still work as a contracted Designated Representative with the Immigration and Refugee Board, representing those who are able to understand the nature of that process.

Counselling can help be the answer to getting to where you’d like to go and with a trusted confidante alongside you, your journey to healing can feel safer over time and less alone. Piece by piece, step by step as she draws on different modality techniques as needed, she will be there every step of the way as the feelings of hopelessness grow into hope and life gradually begins to feel less troublesome.

She works with a wide range of age groups/client population from children through to adults and couples.

My understanding of hope comes from a journey which has helped shape the compassion, understanding and authenticity I carry through the counselling sessions and beyond. In my work, I use a person-centered and trauma- informed approach while working with/drawing from different areas: Narrative Therapy, Emotions-Focused, Family Systems Therapy and Attachment Based Therapy. I am currently working on Gottman Training Level 1.
